Margaret A Helms Celebration of Life Service for Margaret Anita Helms, 85 of Tyler will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 10:30 am at Rise Again Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Walter Jones. There will be a time for visitation following the service.

Margaret passed away on Friday, August 18 at her home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born November 18, 1937, in Shreveport, LA to Gladys Blanch (Ellzey) and Jesse Clarance (JC) Ashby. She earned her GED in 1973, while raising 4 kids and working full-time. Margaret married Darrell E. Helms on February 8, 1974. She was a sales associate at Gibson's in the fabric department where she worked until they closed and then went to work for K-Mart in the mid-1980s. She loved sewing and crocheting. She retired in the late 1980s and became owner of the Robins Nest Gift Shop. She was always Daddy's right hand with his business Helms Acoustics. Margaret was a founding member of Rise Again Baptist Church. She was a blessing to everyone she met. She witnessed to those she met and shared the word of Jesus Christ with everyone. She was known as Babe, Mother and Nanny to us all. She loved her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell E. Helms, parents, Gladys and JC Ashby, sisters, Lou Welborn, Loretta Hayes, Bobbie Ann Hayes, son-in-law Kenneth Bryant and grandson Cody Ware. She is survived by her children, son Billy Ware and wife Michelle, daughters Tina McFarland and husband Tracy, Tessa Bryant, Tammy Stidham and husband Clifton all of Tyler. She is also survived by grandchildren Kelly Ware and wife Laura, Kace Ware, Raymond McFarland and wife Amanda, Troy McFarland and wife Monica, Nora Norris and husband Jordan, Natasha Bryant and fiancée Joe Barilari, Caleb Bryant and wife Sarah Renee, Stephen Bryant and fiancée Mia Daniels, Magen Smith and husband Zachariah, Rachael Bryant, Sarah Wilson and husband Tim, Elisabeth Bryant and fiancée Ethan Griffith, Jeremy Bryant, all of Tyler, Jon and Mary Bryant of Dallas, Heath Stidham and wife Jessica of Tyler, SGT Ryan Stidham and wife Samantha of Woodbridge, VA. She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and many "Bonus Grands". She is also survived by her brother James H. Ashby and wife Sue of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers the family requests if desired donations can be made in memory of Margaret to Rise Again Baptist Church 10358 FM 14, Tyler, TX 75706; for their continued outreach ministries.

Miss Margaret was a wonderful lady! She loved the Lord and wanted everyone to know Him like she did. She was excited when she was in His house. How blessed she is to be in His presence now. She is waiting for us there.

Mrs. Helms was an inspiration & I will miss her sweet personality but I will see her again one day in the presence of Jesus! I loved seeing her at Rise Again Church & hearing/seeing her praise our King! She is loved by so many. May God comfort you all during this time.
