Metha and Martin resided in Regina since 1957 when they emigrated from Holland. Throughout Metha's life she endured and overcame many hardships and illnesses. Her strong faith, zest for life and sense of humour allowed her to overcome all obstacles. With each challenge Metha embraced the opportunity to meet new people, make friends and share stories. Her jovial personality was clearly magnetic. She knew how to have a good time, live life to the fullest, to appreciate and be thankful for what she had. Metha will be remembered for being a great wife, mother, Oma, friend and prankster. She had many gifts and passions which included playing cards and scrabble, cooking, knitting, crocheting, painting, sewing, writing her memoirs, traveling and driving her Porsche. She loved summers at the cottage, Martin's beautiful gardens and spending hours on the beach with family and friends. Metha brought the hills of Lumsden Beach alive with the sound of her keyboard music. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks, love and appreciation to the amazing staff of Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Metha's memory to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, S4R 8P6. A CELEBRATION OF METHA'S LIFE will be held at Good Samaritan Parish, 425 Broad St. N., Regina, SK on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Metha was loved by all, will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts.

Dear Mike, Carla and all the Koot family:

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, Mike. I only had the pleasure of meeting her once and she left a lasting impression that I will always fondly remember her by. What a wonderful sense of humor she had and was a presence in any room she was in. I am sure you will all miss her very much, but your wonderful memories of her will carry you through this tough time. Please let us know if you need anything at all.
