Margaret Mary Foley Polley

Polley Margaret Mary Foley East Lansing, MI Margaret "Peg" Polley, wife to Ira Polley. April 8, 1924 - June 3, 2004. Born Margaret Mary Foley in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Mary and John Foley. She graduated with a B.A. in economics from the University of Minnesota; Fulbright Scholar at the London School of Economics. Peg worked in the newspaper business in San Francisco and Minneapolis. She had a leadership role in Hubert Humphrey's first senatorial campaign (1948), and was passionately involved in the presidential campaigns of George McGovern and Gene McCarthy. Peg married Ira Polley on August 22, 1953 in Minneapolis. She is survived by her husband; brother, John of Minneapolis; sons, Vincent of Houston, and John of Minneapolis; and her three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kailen and Aisling. Services and an Irish wake were held on June 5 in East Lansing, Michigan.
