CULBERTSON - Funeral services for Margaret Mae Salvevold, 77, of Culbertson, will be Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. MDT, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Pastor Carol Karres and Pastor Al Beyer will officiate and interment will be in the Ebenezer Lutheran Church Cemetery. An informal gathering celebrating Margaret's life will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Dane Valley. Visitation will precede each service for one hour.
Margaret was born Aug. 13, 1927, to Clifford and Beulah (Hackley) McGinnis in "The Hills" at the family homestead south of Culbertson in Richland County, the second of eight children. She was educated at the Lee School and graduated from Culbertson High School
She was married to Arvon Salvevold in 1945 at the Cherry Creek Church. Margaret lived her life as a homemaker and farmer in the Culbertson and Dane Valley communities. Her life was centered around her children and grandchildren, farming, and her church, Ebenezer Lutheran. She spent the last 19 winters in Apache Junction, Ariz. with a close community of friends.
She died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, in the Roosevelt Memorial Hospital from a massive cerebral hemorrhage, with her family by her side.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening, family time, reading, shuffleboard, and socializing. Cooking for her family gave her great pleasure.
She is survived by her children, Jean (Gerald) Park of Anchorage, Alaska, Gail Stover of Anchorage, Alaska, and Jim (Sharon) Salvevold of Culbertson; five grandchildren, Krista Park, Jodie Stover, Marc Stover, Grant (Lisa) Salvevold and Gy (Shelly) Salvevold; four sisters, Edna (Don) Jensen of Sidney, Betty (LeRoy) Larsen of Culbertson, Bessie (Cal) Diede of Missouri, and Joan Mester of Washington; one brother, Albert (June) McGinnis of California; and many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, one brother, Charles McGinnis, and one sister, Ronda McGinnis Smith.
Fulkerson Funeral Home of Williston is in charge of arrangements.

Our heartfelt sorrow goes out to all of the family. I know Dad & Mom will miss Maggie and their annual trips south, not to mention all those shuffleboard games.
