Mrs. Margaret Dale Simmons passed away in her home on April 29th 2012. Margaret was an Edgecombe county native and was proceeded in death by her parents, Leslie Milton and Margaret Eloise Dickens. Margaret graduated with the class of 1965 from West Edgecombe High School. She was Homecoming Queen her senior year. She was active in all school activities and was one of the star players on the womens basketball team. Margaret was survived by her husband Jack Neil Simmons. They made their home at 726 East Hudson St Rocky Mount NC. The two opened and ran a successful cabinet shop for over 50 years that is still in business today. She is also survived by 2 children. Her son James Richard Eason III and wife Regina Eason of Rocky Mount. Her daughter Amy Janelle Ayscue and husband Kenneth Ayscue also of Rocky Mount. She had 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her grandchildren are James Eason IV, Andrew Eason, Ashley Eason, Christian Jones, and Travis Ayscue. Her great grandchild Adrian Eason. Margaret loved all of her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spoiling all of them over the last 25 years. She is also survived by 2 sisters. Carol Wright and Judy Pate. They were all very close and still enjoyed their girls weekends they shared together every few months. Margaret also had 1 God-son, Gilbert Jones. He is the son of Margarets best friend of over 40 years, Ms. Mary Jones. Margaret was a wonderful woman and loved taking care of her family. She especially loved to cook home cooked meals and feed her family. Her chicken pastry, fresh garden vegatables, and homemade gravy are just a few of her country kitchen specialties. Margaret had a heart of gold and always put others ahead of herself. She Loved all of her family and friends and will be truly missed.
