Margery Ziemann Obituary

In Loving Memory

Margery (Jean)Ziemann passed away on January 16,2025 after a brief illness. Her Goddaughter Debbie Migliore Batterman was by her side as she peacefully went to be with our Lord.

Jean was born in Washington D.C. on January 19, 1944, to Anna Marjory (Marge) Cooney-Woolson. She was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Mastbaum High School in 1964. Shortly after high-school, Jean was briefly married to Albie Capewell. When they divorced, Jean went on to establish a career in the Healthcare industry as a Grant writer for St. Luke's and Children's Medical Center of Philadelphia. She received her college degree from St. Joseph University and went on to become the hospital's administrator in the late 1970's. In 1985, Jean purchased property in Colmar, Pa and developed the Corio's Victorian Village shopping complex. She owned and operated the store in the main house as a "One-stop" shop selling gifts, candy, baked goods and even a drop-off location for dry cleaning services. She leased out the remaining 5 stores to various retailers. In 1987, Jean went searching for something more. She somehow knew she had not yet found her purpose. She took a leap of faith and sold the shopping complex and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona with her nephew, Louis Migliore.

It was in Arizona where she met the love of her life, Lowell Ziemann, at a church function. Lowell had been recently widowed and the two grew closer in their love for each other and church. They married in September 1987. Jean pivoted into the Insurance Brokerage company until retirement. Sadly, Lowell passed away in May 2024 after a brief illness. Jean's own health started to decline following cardiac issues in November 2024 until her passing January 16, 2025.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lowell, her Mother Marge Woolson, Sisters Gail Gregory and Florence "Flossie" Migliore, and Step-Grandson, Joshua Schulz.

She is survived by her sister Elaine Babcock of Philadelphia, Pa, her sister Flossie's children (which she considered herself their second mother), Debbie Batterman (Howard), Louis Migliore (Donna), Karen Admire (Mike), and Tony Migliore; her stepchildren Jay Ziemann (Lisa)and Suzanne Propoggio (Ron); Her Step Grandchildren Daniel (and Kaitlyn)Ziemann and their son Finley, Sarah Ziemann, Zachary & Jacob Schulz, Gina Arthur (Jonathan)and their son Leo, Payton & Anna Migliore, and Domonique Admire; her Great Nephews Joe & Tony Migliore, Jr. Additionally, Jean remained close to her Niece Tracy (Erika) Smith of Philadelphia.
