Margie and I were very close growing up. We shared a bedroom as kids and we went places together as teenagers. I remember one night when we were supposed to be going to sleep but we were talking and laughing. Dad told us several times to get quiet and go to sleep but we couldn´t stop laughing. Dad came into our bedroom with his belt to punish us and since I slept next to the wall, I slid down between the bed and the wall. Margie was mad at me afterward because she got most of the lashing. Years after that we laughed about that night. Over the past 15 years or so we didn´t get to see each other very much because we lived so far apart but we talked on the phone often. I will miss our conversations. I know that I will see her again one day in heaven.

I remember back in 2010 . I was living in Clarksdale but I had developed some very disturbing pain in my abdomen that persisted for over a year . I called my daughter that almost immediately flew me to Margie´s home in Michigan where in the late evening Margie rushed me to the hospital. Where it was determined that my Gall Bladder had burst and infected my entire intestinal regioned . If it hadn´t been for my dear sister , I might not be here today . Love you always Sissy please give Mama my love .

My favorite memories of Mom revolve around her art studios in Clarksdale and Tunica, Mississippi. I grew up in that amazing creative environment, and I can't imagine my life or my daughters' lives without creativity and a passion for beauty. Thanks, Mom, for giving me and my girls all your artistic talents!

I remember mom trying to hustle us up and off to school when we were kids. Robyn and I were bickering and moving slow I'm sure, mom frustrated completely. We finally got settled in the car, mom jumped in, cranked it, reversed it, and hit the gas...... backing straight into the car of a traveling evangelists who was parked directly behind us. It's funny now, but mom sure wasn't laughing then :)
