Marguerite McGillis

Marguerite McGillis (nee Hogg) 1929 - 2013 Marguerite passed away peacefully at the West Island Palliative Care Residence surrounded by her children on Monday, November 19, 2013. Her passing follows that of her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald McGillis. She is survived by her children, Howard, Louise and Tom, her grandchildren Sarah and Jane and her sisters Therese and Joan. Marguerite grew up in Toronto, graduated from the University of Toronto and worked as a medical records librarian. She returned to the city of her birth, Montreal, when she married Don. They built their life together in Pointe Claire where they opened their hearts and home to many friends over the years. Marguerite will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, loyal friend and sister, a woman of deep faith and an active member of her community. A funeral mass will be held at St. John Fisher Church, 120 Summerhill Avenue, Pointe Claire on Tuesday, November 26th at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral at 10:00am.
