CALCATERRA MARIA
Age 85, our beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother was welcomed by God into His eternal home on October 8, 2015. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Gilberto Casasanta and Angela DeChellis Casasanta, Maria was born on December 14, 1929, in the village of Pacentro, L'Aquila, Italy. She settled in Western Pennsylvania in 1961, and made her home in McKees Rocks since that time. A devoted mother, Maria leaves behind four loving children who will miss her greatly, Angela DiNunno and Sam Calcaterra both of McKees Rocks, Pascual Calcaterra and Nancy Calcaterra Kennedy (Charley) of Moon Township. Also surviving are her beloved sisters, Anna DiSalle, Youngstown, Elisa Badini (Antonio), McKees Rocks, Gemma DiMatteo (John), Monaca, Elena Casasanta (Jeff), Center Twp. She also leaves 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren with precious memories and traditions. Maria is reunited with her husband of 47 years, Sabatino Calcaterra who passed away in 1997; and two of her children, her oldest daughter, Giacenta Calcaterra Magliocco and son, Mark Calcaterra. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Michelina DeVincentis; a brother-in-law, Mario DiSalle; and a son-in-law, Antonio Magliocco. Family and friends are welcome at ANTHONY M. MUSMANNO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 700 7th St., McKees Rocks, PA 15136, Sunday, October 11, 2015, 12-5 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m., at St. John of God Parish, the Church at St. Mary's, Church Ave., McKees Rocks, PA.
