Maria R. Campos

Maria R. Campos, 86, of Las Cruces left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father, Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 29, 1921 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico to Ramon and Maria De La Luz Chavez Gallegos. Mrs. Campos was a homemaker and a communicant at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church.
Survivors include six sons, Alberto Campos and wife Mayra Patricia, Lauro Campos all of Las Cruces, Francisco Campos and wife Carlota Pacheco, Moises Campos and wife Marisa all of Zacatecas, Mexico, Ramon Campos and wife Eugenia of Visalia, California, Isauro Campos and wife Stephanie of Concord, California; three daughters, Elvira Mendoza and husband Jose of Visalia, California, Maria de Jesus Campos of Aguascaliente, Mexico, Rosaura Campos and husband George Jepson of Las Cruces; one brother, Alfredo Gallegos of San Diego, California. Other survivors include 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alberto Campos; three brothers, Gonzalo, Alfonso and Salomon Gallegos; four sisters, Josefina, Rosa, Teresa and Teresita Gallegos.
Visitation for Mrs. Campos will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, 5035 Holsome Road with Reverend Andres Alava officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
Serving as casket bearers will be Luis Miguel, Juan Francisco, Isauro, Francisco and Abraham Campos and Eric Muñoz.
