Maria Chapa Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2025.
Maria Del Rosario Chapa (Chayo) went to go be with our Lord & Savior at the age of 76 on July 8th, 2025.

Chayo, as she was better known as, leaves behind more than her immediate family mourning her loss.

Having worked in Premont and surrounding areas as a traveling CNA, she was more than a caregiver as treated her patients more like family. She was always giving a welcoming smile and asking about your families if you caught her working as a hostess at the Falfurrias Whataburger.

Work life aside, she was a devoted Catholic Daughter that gave what time she could to lend a helping hand. She was also a HUGE pet lover, you'd know that her dogs were her babies.

Outside of what you'd seen or known her to do, Rosario was a dear friend. A loving sister. A caring daughter. A spunky tia and overall, a woman that lived life on her own terms.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Zoila Guerra and father, Servando Guerra. Also preceded is her brother, Jose Guerra.

She is survived by her youngest sister, Carla Guerra and her daughters. Nieces include Mia and Eric Garza, Yazmeen and Andrew Lopez as well as Lilliana De La Garza and Dimas De La Paz. Her nephews are to include Carlos Guerra and Emilio and Krystal Guerra.

A Holy Rosary will be held on Friday July 18 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Theresa Catholic Church in Premont Texas, followed by a Funeral Mass.
