Salt Point - Maria R. Milisits Connolly, 46, a resident of Salt Point and previously of the Bronx, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie after a valiant five year battle with breast cancer. She was a dedicated employee of the Hyde Park Central School District, working mainly at Haviland Junior High and F.D. Roosevelt High School. She loved the teachers and students she worked with. Maria worked for the school district for many years until her illness made it impossible. She loved spending time with her best friend, her mother, and her shining star, her grandson, Damian. Born in New York City, on June 13, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Steve Milisits and Elizabeth Geosits Milisits, who survives in the Bronx. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Nicole, Valerie, and Diana Connolly, all of Salt Point; a grandson, Damian Guzman of Salt Point; a sister, Cathy Moriarty and husband, David, of Otisville, NY; a brother, Thomas Milisits and wife, Elisabeth, of Yonkers; niece and nephews, Elizabeth and Jim Moriarty, and Thomas and Danny Milisits; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Pm, Friday, July 6, 2007 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, July 7th at St. Stanislaus Church, Main Street, Pleasant Valley. In keeping with Maria's wishes, cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G.
