She was born in Faja Dos Vimes, Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal, July 19, 1935, daughter of the late Alberto and Maria E. (Azevedo) Morais, and was educated in that area. She came to the United States on Aug. 4, 1976, settling in Lowell.
She resided in South Lowell, and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Before retiring, Miss Morais worked for 15 years at Prince Macaroni Co. Previously, she worked at Commodore Foods for nearly 10 years.
She was a member of the Holy Ghost Society and the Lowell Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time at casinos. She also enjoyed watching the carnival dances at the Holy Ghost every year.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Laurinda Alves and her husband, Antonio, and nieces, Honoria Santos and Grace Gomes, all of Lowell, with whom she lived, Fr. Abilio Morais of Terceira, Azores, Leocadia Luis and her husband, Luciano, of Sao Jorge, Azores, Idalina Furtado of Montreal, Canada, Rita Fontes and her husband, Jorge, of San Jose, Calif., Maria Sousa of Montreal, Canada, Albertina Sousa of Lowell, Maria Sao Pedro Matias of Terceira, Azores, and Julio Morais and his wife, Serafina, of Sao Jorge, Azores.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren throughout Lowell, Canada, California, and the Azores, Portugal.
She was also the sister-in-law of the late Fernando Sousa, Jose Paulo Sousa, Antonio Matias, and Jose Furtado.

MY SYMPATHY TO THE WHOLE FAMILY, AND ESPECIALLY HER SISTER WHO TOOK CARE OF HER UNTIL THE END. I STILL REMEMBER WHEN WE LIVE ABOVE YOU AND WE WOULD GET TOGETHER WITH MY MOM AND DAD ON THE WEEKENDS IT FEELS LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY. BUT SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE NOW WITH NO PAIN.
