Marian Ottaviano (née Martino) passed away on January 20, 2025, in New Haven, Connecticut, at the age of 96. Born on October 26, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, Marian lived a life filled with intellectual curiosity and adventure.

Marian pursued higher education at Hunter College in New York and later continued studies at Connecticut Community College's Gateway Campus in New Haven. Her professional career included work with the Bayer Corporation and the Jewish Historical Society of New Haven, where she contributed to preserving and sharing historical narratives. She was one of the original residents and tenant association members of the Fountain Heights B'Nai B'rith Senior Housing in New Haven.

An avid cyclist and hiker, Marian was an active member of both the Southern Connecticut Cycling Club and the New Haven Hiking Club. Her love for the outdoors was matched by a passion for art, reading, travel-especially through Road Scholar trips-cooking, and attending Yale University cultural events. Marian also found joy in shopping at Goodwill and nurtured her beloved cats, dog and plants.

Marian is survived by her daughter Georgina Ottaviano (Tom Kubisiak) and grandchildren Noah and Nathaniel. She was predeceased by her son David Ottaviano (Janet) whose surviving children are Thomas (Kate), Melissa, and James. Marian's nieces Mary (Chris) Heidenreich and Martha (Scott Cavell) Martin also cherish her memory.

Interment took place on February 7, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, located at 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village, New York. The service will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
