Marian SKULMOSKI Obituary

Published by Regina Leader-Post on Nov. 24, 2015.
Marian Sadie Skulmoski (nee Green)
Marian passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, November 20, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Marian was predeceased by her husband Albin; parents Alex and Anne Green; sisters Margaret and Emily; brothers Albert, Bill, Mike and Don. Marian will be lovingly missed by her children/grandchildren: Greg (Tracy Wilson) Saskia; Debb (Ken) Buhnai/Kris and Lindsay; Marilyn Skulmoski (Doug Pederson) /Tanner, Chris (Candice) Kinsley and Shawn; Murray (Christianne Chevrier)/Ava; her siblings Ethel, Agnes, Lorna (Frank) and Ed (Lorna), as well as a large circle of relatives and dear friends. In 1927, Marian was born to Alex and Anne Green in Krasne, SK, and grew up in Wynyard, SK. As an adult, Marian moved to Winnipeg where she held various jobs but due to her parents' ailing health moved back to Wynyard and worked at the Five to a Dollar Store. Marian met the love of her life Albin at a dance and they married in 1959. They moved to Regina in 1960 where Marian proudly stayed at home to raise their children. As a wonderful homemaker she took pride in cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafts, gardening, canning and preserving. Marian also enjoyed playing cards, hosting social gatherings, bowling, her "Roughies", curling and the tv show Another World. As time went on, she eagerly anticipated the arrival of her grandchildren and treasured every moment she spent with them. Since 1960, Marian was a member of the St. Cecilia chapter of the CWL where she helped cater at funerals and made crafts and dainties for bake sales. Marian never said no when called upon for help. Marian took pride in volunteering at the Marian Centre and as a Pastoral Worker at church and in the hospitals. Travelling was a joy for Marian and Al. They wintered many times in Yuma, AZ and travelled through Canada and the United States. Their most adventurous trip was to Abu Dhabi. Marian loved to reminisce about that trip, especially her experience of riding a camel. A special thank you is given to all the people who cared for Marian and helped her through her journey. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Marian's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. Cecilia Parish, 5020-7th Avenue, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
Our lives are forever enriched for having been loved by you.
