Marian Marjorie Tyler (née Clark), age 98, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in San Diego, California. Born on June 18, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, Marian lived a long and impactful life marked by dedication to education, community service and unwavering grace.

Over the course of more than six decades, Marian devoted herself to the field of education. Her work focused on Special Education and Learning Disabilities for adults-a calling that reflected her deep commitment to empowering others through knowledge and compassion. Her career left an enduring legacy in the lives of countless students and colleagues (most especially at San Diego Community College), who benefited from her expertise and tireless advocacy.

Marian's life was shaped by her devotion to family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband James Willard Tyler, adoring daughter Julanne, sisters Danielle Gibbs and Bobby Adams, and nieces Lynne Adams and Jennifer Adams Brooks. She is lovingly remembered by daughters Yasmin (Jan) and Leigh, as well as her niece, grand niece and nephew, their spouses, partners and children.

Those who knew Marian will remember her for her beauty and grace-qualities that radiated through every aspect of her life. Her loyalty to those she cared about was steadfast, and her contributions to community service reflected a lifelong desire to uplift others.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
