Margaret M. Buckley

Margaret M. (Garrity) Mig Buckley, of Cohasset, serenely passed to the other side on January 19, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph D. Buckley in July of 2010. They fell in love in 1941 and never fell out of love for 69 years. They were married on the West Coast during World War II, while Joe was serving in the US Navy. Mig went back the East Coast the day after V-J Day. Joe shortly followed and they began their family of three sons and one daughter: Daniel of Abington, Paul of Whitman, Eileen Simonelli of Abington, and Kevin of Liverpool, NY. Migs consummate skills as a mother and homemaker gave these lucky kids the secure happy childhood often talked about, but rarely achieved. Mig is predeceased by her parents, John (Pa) Garrity and Bridget (Foley) Garrity and all her brother and sisters: John, Catherine Dunn, Gerard, Joseph and Eleanor Fahey. Mig leaves nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Migs family devotion allowed Joe to work extremely hard helping his family grow a business. When Joe retired, Mig joined the work force as a model and fashion consultant for Bomans boutique. Mig will be sorely missed but never forgotten. A Funeral from the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting hours Sunday, Jan. 23 from 3-7 p.m. in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
