A Journey Home for Maribel,
You have touched many lives, my friend. But, what is important is the strength of character and legacy you left behind. to all who came after you. Such talents that we experience and observed in our lifetime...Godspeed, my friend.

The Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres, Philippines, have been praying for Maribel since the time she became seriously ill. As one of her personal friends and schoolmates in then St. Paul College of Manila, I will surely miss her. My fond remembrances of her include, among others, the fun we had celebrating birthdays in Sugar and Spice where we boarded together with Celia Yatco and our half-boarder June Keithley, and her week-end visits in my family home in Bulacan. Rest in the peace of our Lord, dear Maribel. I love you!

IN GOD WE TRUST.
I have wanted to visit with Chit and Maribel after she came home from the hospital but just did not want to travel during the Lenten season and then it happened.
Maribel has always impressed me with her scholastic achievements and business acumen. Despite her disabilities, I really never heard her complain about them and maintained her good humor about things. When Mommy was still alive, Maribel was very active with her own business matters and I first
met her in one of those visits I had with Chit and Mommy....and much more when she moved in with Chit later. She's always pleasant and attempted at times to maneuver on her own esp. with her ambulation with the wheelchair despite failures to do so at times. But she kept trying...and I know that Chit would miss her a lot but she's happy now with Mommy and her brothers up there. Knowing how close she and Chit are with each other, Maribel will guide her from above ...
Maribel, I treasure the memories of you, in a way not complaining but accepting yet ready to try to improve situations within your power , always trying to... And now Yanni had joined you too. The Lord's Blessings on both of you ... REST IN PEACE...

We are so heartbroken to hear of this news. The last time we saw Tita Maribel, I was pregnant with my first child, Amelia. We dropped by for quick hugs before heading home to Los Angeles. Our quick hugs turned to more than 2 hours of laughs, catching up, reminiscing, & just sitting together watching tv...such a moment is so hard to forget. You've been a special part of our lives & so honored to be as much as a part of your family aswell. Rest in peace, Tita Maribel. We love & will miss you dearly. Sending all our love- Allyson, Anthony, Amelia, & Addeline LoGuercio

Maribel, my thoughts, prayers, condolences to your family. I wish we can turn back time to tell and reminisce our high school life which was full of happy memories . I can still see those sparkling eyes when you smile. Ambeng, (as we fondly called you) you are the brilliant, smart and humble human being we loved and cared. I wish we had more time to see and hear from each other after high school. And after 50 years I finally saw you not knowing that would be the last. The Lord took you away from your pains and discomfort. You are in His care now. I will miss you, I love you and rest peacefully now with the Lord.

During her last birthday celebration last November, Maribel said she was so happy to see all those who went all the way to Las Vegas to be with her. She said she felt younger and stronger. She was in such a happy mood. Little did we know this would be the last time we will see her.
Rest in the kingdom of our Creator my dearest Maribel.

My dearest Maribel,
Your recent passing has left me with infinite sadness, and sometimes, I do not know how I could I possibly bear it. Everything I see that reminds me of you - your scooter, your van, your "M" shirts, the "Milky Way" chocolate bars you loved eating at all hours, the Marinelli Restaurant you like to eat in, the Blackjack games we like to play together with the "Lucky-Lucky" and the "pairs". All these things, I will never enjoy with you again makes me sad. Your "back seat" driver comments are surely missed. My only consolation is knowing that since God has taken you with him to Heaven, you are now free of illness, pain and suffering. At last He has freed you of all these and I can rejoice in the knowledge that you have been sick for so long and now you are healed by God. You are my sister and my best friend forever. I hope to see you in heaven someday.
The popular poem below sent by one of our friends expresses everything I feel & think of your passing more than I can ever say myself. I want to share it here with you and all our friends and loved ones.
The Broken Chain
"We little know that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again."
I shall love you always.
Your Manang Chita (Connie)
