Marie Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2025.
Marie Patricia (McCarthy) Allen, 82, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Stuart, Florida.

Born on July 22, 1942, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Marie was a proud member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School in Bridgeport in 1960. She later built a career at Health Net in Shelton, where her colleagues became cherished friends who felt like family to her.

Marie's life was deeply enriched by her faith and the love of those around her. Over the years she was a devoted member of St. Lawrence Church in Huntington, Connecticut; had a special connection to Blessed Sacrament Church in Charleston, South Carolina because her uncle, Father John J. McCarthy was the first priest of that church and personally assisted in its construction; and additionally had a special connection to the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, honoring her aunt, Sister Ann McCarthy. In her later years, she found comfort and spiritual guidance at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City, FL and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart, FL. Her Catholic faith remained a cornerstone of her life until her passing.

She found great joy in traveling and engaging in heartfelt conversations with friends and family-both those she was married into and those who became family through love and shared experiences.

Marie is survived by her son Warren Allen of Shelton, Connecticut; her daughter Tricia and son-in-law Glenn Feigenblat of Florida; and her brother Daniel McCarthy of Plantsville, Connecticut, along with his wife and daughters. She held deep affection and gratitude for the Allen family ladies and daughters who surrounded her with love and support throughout her life, creating countless cherished memories together.

She was predeceased by her husband Roger W. Allen; her parents Daniel McCarthy and Erna Frielinghaus McCarthy of Shelton; and Priscilla Allen of Dade City, Florida-a dear friend who became like a sister to her.

Marie's warmth, faith, and love for meaningful connections will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those whose lives she touched.

I remember "aunt " Marie very fondly.
She was a sweet lady and my mom did think of her as a sister. She called and visited her as often as she could, keeping me very well updated on her and her health.
I certainly would not have thought my mom would go first but you better believe they are united with many loved ones now and chatting away together in Heaven.
