Marie Therese Frances Karl Glynn, 81, died on October 19, 2011 peacefully surrounded by her family. Marie was born June 12, 1930 in New York City, New York. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, New York in 1952. She was married to David P. Glynn, who predeceased her, for fifty six years. Marie was a twenty year resident of South Chatham, MA and she previously lived in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She was an active member of the Chatham Garden Club, as well as the Secretary of the Auxiliary of Cape Cod Hospital. She enjoyed the book club, bridge club and was an active parishioner of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Marie enjoyed travel and spending time with her large and extended family. Marie is survived by her children and grandchildren: Rosemary Betz (children Michael and Sarah Betz), Kathleen Glynn, David P. Glynn, Jr. (wife Ivy Glynn), M. Frances Halliday ( husband Richard Halliday, children Asa and Brennan Halliday), James P. Glynn, II (wife Jeanette, children James and Joshua Glynn), and Ellin Callahan (husband E. Murphy Callahan children Colleen and Molly Callahan). A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd, Chatham. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 10:00am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Chatham, MA. Burial will follow at Saint George Cemetery in Guilford, CT. Dear Kathleen and Family, I was so saddened to hear of Marie's passing. I will always have fond memories of both your mother and father. Their friendship meant so much to me. I will miss being able to visit with Marie on my trips to the Cape. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
