Marie A. (Roos) LaPointe, 83, of Springfield died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. Marie, a daughter of the late Carl and Hazel (Bristol) Roos was born in Springfield on March 15, 1930. Raised in Springfield she graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Marie was a business secretary for White Plumbing and then for Mac Plumbing and Supply. A lifelong resident she was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed her friends at the Pine Point Community Center and the Women's Guilde at the church. She loved to play cards and always had spare change and a deck of cards within reach. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William J. LaPointe, her grandson, Eric Dimetres, and her sisters, Christine Leete and her husband Theodore and Barbara Forget and her husband Conrad. She is survived by a son, Michael W. LaPointe and his fiancée Deborah Allsop of Springfield; a daughter, Linda Marie Dimetres and her husband Edward of East Longmeadow; a grandson, Christopher A. Dimetres and his wife Heather and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Dimetres. Visiting hours for Marie will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 8:15 at the funeral home followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd. Springfield. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield.
