Marie Lovallo Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE - Marie Theresa Dato Lovallo, 94, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Marie was born on March 30, 1918 in the Bronx to Joseph and Pauline Sabia. Marie married the love of her life, Charles Dato, on February 4, 1940. He predeceased her on August 23, 1971. She then married Anthony Lovallo on February 21, 1979. He predeceased her on November 11, 1995. She adored her family and through her life she touched the hearts of many. She was an avid reader and loved to dance.
Marie belonged to the Kiwanis Club, St. Ursula's Guild and Columbiettes and was a regular at the Senior Armory in Mount Vernon.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Mildred Colarusso and her husband Charles, Paula Shirghio and her husband Nicholas; her grandchildren, Dr. Anthony Colarusso and his wife Christina, Susan Lake and her husband William, Cheryl Calabrese, Marlaina Rhea and her husband Jeff, and Nicholas Shirghio; her great-grandchildren, Matthew Lake (USMC), Kristy Lake, Donte Calabrese, Michael, Joseph and Jake Colarusso, Patrick and Aubrey Rhea; her stepdaughters, Joan Boccuzzi and her husband Carmine, and Linda Biondino; her stepson, Paul Lovallo; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Dan and Anthony Sabia; and her sisters, Tina Adler and Mildred Sabia.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing, 6725 Lyons Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or to a charity of your choice.

Dear Mildred and Paula,
Kathy and I are so saddened to hear that your loving mom has died. We both would have loved to come to her funeral, but we found out too late.
Please accept our deepest sympathies.
We remember her coming to Stamford to visit with my dad and Aunt Mickey Sabia

Dear Paula & Mildred,
I write this note with the deepest of sadness. I adored your mother, almost as if she was my own grandmother, especially since Nannie's passing. In some way, I smiled inside when I learned of her passing because I knew that she and her beloved sister would be together again. My best wishes to all of you during this most challenging time.
