NORWALK: Marie H. Nelson, 80, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010 in Norwalk Memorial Home.
She was born February 21, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Jay L. and Mary (Brown) Angel. She was a 1948 graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio. Marie lived her life devoted to her husband and her five daughters and their families. Her greatest joy was spending time with them. Over the years she also volunteered for Hospice, Akron General Hospital, Resurrection Catholic Church in Mansfield, Ohio, and St. Williams Catholic Church in Champion, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Arland E. Nelson in 2005.
Marie is survived by four brothers; daughters, Sherry Williams and Kathleen Hintz of Norwalk, Ohio; daughters and sons in law, Elaine and Joseph Hintz of Norwalk, Ohio, Janet and Dr. Kerry Allen of Huron, Ohio, and Mary Ann and Chris Kindred of Lexington, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren; sister in law and brother in law, Barbara and James Mercer of Curtice, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where prayer services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Eric Mueller, Associate Pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church and Rev. Stan Szybka will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fun, 333 North Summit Street, P.O. Box 10086, Toledo, Ohio 43699 or to St. Paul Catholic Church, Faithful Stewards of Tomorrow, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
