With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marie-Paule Christianne Beaulieu Barrera,
who left this world on Thursday, March 13th, at the age of 87. A cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving
mother, and adored sister, her absence creates an emptiness that words cannot express.
Marie-Paule is survived by her six loving children: Sylvia (Sheldon), Andre, Christina (Jeffery), Daniel
(Sherry), Javiel (Rosy), and Christella. She also leaves behind a legacy in the form of her many grandchildren
and great-grandchildren, all of whom she held dear. She is survived by her brothers Giles, Jacque, and Andre, as
well as her sister Mary-Jeanne.
She now reunites in eternal peace with her spouse of 64 years, Jose "Pepe" Barrera, her parents, Adelard and
Lina Beaulieu, her sister Denise, brothers Paul-Emile and Guy, and her daughter Joann, who preceded her in
death.
Born in St. Arsene, Quebec, Canada, on July 25th, 1937, Marie-Paule's life was one of boundless love,
dedication, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She had a deep passion for gardening,
finding joy in nurturing life from the soil, and her garden was a reflection of the care and patience she showed
in all aspects of her life. A hard worker throughout her lifetime, Marie-Paule's tireless effort and determination
were felt in everything she did, whether it was caring for her family, tending to her garden, or helping others.
Marie-Paule's warm spirit and infectious personality were best expressed through her storytelling, often shared
with her signature French-Canadian accent. People loved to hear her recount stories of her life, her adventures,
and her memories, all told with such love and humor that they left a lasting impression on all who listened.
In addition to raising her own children, Marie-Paule opened her heart and home to many foster children over the
years. Her compassionate spirit and nurturing nature provided a safe and loving environment for children in
need, and her influence shaped the lives of countless young people.
Her warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever.
A visitation in celebration of Marie-Paule's life will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, at 9:00 am at
Alaniz Funeral Home, located at 516 N. St. Mary's Street in Falfurrias, Texas. Friends and family are invited to
gather to honor and remember her. The rosary will begin at 10:30 am, followed by a Catholic Mass at St.
Theresa Catholic Church in
Premont, Texas, located at 235 SW 4th St. Afterward, she will be laid to rest at the
family cemetery in Rios, Texas.
May we find comfort in the cherished memories and the invaluable lessons that Marie-Paule shared with us
during her time on earth. Her legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and devotion will live on for generations to
come.
Eulogy from her brother Andre Beaulieu
Marie Paul, our sister, has now found the peace she longed for in her nal years. At 87
years old, she lived a life lled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Her surviving brothers and sister will remember her as a woman of courage, leaving
behind the familiar embrace of her seven siblings to build a new life with her husband,
far from where we all grew up. Though distance separated us for many years, the bond
of family never faded. She built a home lled with love, raising six children who now
carry forward her strength, kindness, and wisdom.
We know that her last years were di'cult-years of illness, the loss of her husband after
many, many years together, and the heartbreaking loss of a daughter. We were told that
she spoke of being ready to go, and while it pains us to say goodbye, there is comfort in
knowing that she is no longer su)ering.
Our sister's legacy is not just in the years she lived but in the love she gave, the family
she built, and the strength she showed through every chapter of her life.
Repose en paix, Marie Paul. Nous gardons de bons souvenirs de toi.
With love
Your Beaulieu family
