KITTERY, Maine — Marie E. (Rowbotham) Silva, 95, of Tilton Avenue, died Nov. 22, 2010, at the Kennebunk Nursing Center.

Marie was born in Portsmouth, N.H., Dec. 31, 1914, the daughter of Alvin F. and Nellie E. (Bellmont) Rowbotham.

She was the widow of Arnold Silva, who died in 1971.

Marie was a member of the Portsmouth Golden Age Club. Her family was most important to her. When she had quiet time she enjoyed reading.

Members of the family include her son, Alvin Silva of Kittery; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Mrs. Jason) Pelletier and their daughter, Maya, all of Milton, N.H.

Several nieces and nephews also survive Marie.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. in Orchard Grove Cemetery Rogers Road, Kittery, with the Rev. Jeff Thornberg of St. John Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, officiating.

Donations in Marie's memory may be made to the SPCA, P.O. Box 196, 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, NH 03885.

Arrangements for Marie's family are entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine.

Artie, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I have such great memories of her when I was the papergirl. She was the sweetest woman I ever knew. Always a happy smile and a special treat. I am sure you will miss her very much. My thoughts are with you at this time.
