Marie L. Yandow, 100, of Lake Helen, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 21, 2024. She was born on June 9, 1924, in Montreal, Quebec, one of seven daughters of Albert and Ozina (Lamoureux) Matte.

On May 7, 1949, Marie married Maurice J. Yandow, and together they shared 41 years of marriage until Maurice's passing in 1990. They were blessed with a large family, including five daughters and two sons: Linda Michaud, Peter (Wendy) Yandow, Sylvia (Donald) Lussier, Louanne (Edward) Shappy, Laurie Rushford, Jerry Yandow, and Caroline (Tom) Ashley. Marie also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice; her parents Albert and Ozina; five sisters-Lucille, Rita, Claire, Pierrette, and Jacelyn; as well as numerous sisters and brothers in law and son-in-law John Rushford.

Marie raised her family on a farm in Fairfax, Vermont while building a career as a talented tailor in Burlington. She worked at Listers and Michael Kehoe and was widely recognized for her mastery of the trade. In 1975, Marie and Maurice moved to St. Albans, Vermont as landlords while she continued her tailoring career in Burlington. They later relocated to Burlington in 1978.

In her later years, Marie lived in Lake Helen, Florida. In April of 2024, she celebrated her remarkable centennial year surrounded by all her children and their families-a cherished milestone filled with love and joy.

Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be planned for the spring of 2025.
