Marilou McCully Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 27 to May 4, 2004.
MARILOU McCULLY 4/18/28 - 4/24/04 "Our Hero" The music in heaven may have never sounded any sweeter, now that Marilou is there at the piano. Those of us who adored her and admired her - and there are too many to count - rejoice in the end of her suffering and the start of her eternal reward. She filled our lives with love and joy and music. Hers was a life of service to her Lord Jesus and to her family - not out of any sense of obligation, but because of a heart that overflowed with love. Born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, she and her husband Ed spent many years as missionaries in Ecuador. Widowed at the age of 27, she moved to Federal Way in 1963, worked at Auburn General Hospital, and raised her 3 sons (she never missed a game). She was always very involved in music and missions at her church, touching so very many lives. She was also one of the world's great dog lovers, a big fan of the Mariners, a jigsaw whiz, and a great solver of the Jumble and Wheel of Fortune puzzles. Marilou leaves behind her 3 sons and their wives - Steve & Ellie (Bonney Lake), Mike & Diana (Tucson), Matt & Char (Enumclaw) - all of whom praise God for her love and influence. Her four grandchildren - Abby, Max, Brooke, and Pat - and her great grandson, Jackson, were a great source of joy, and their love and respect for her would fill the oceans. Those she loved and leaves behind include her siblings & in-laws: Marki & Dave Siple (Florida), Billie & Doug Findlay (Michigan), Kirk & Sandi Hobolth (Michigan), Jay & Betty McCully (Seattle), and Bill Erickson (Auburn). Also, numerous nieces and nephews and their families, as well as friends from all over the world. Marilou's heavenly entrance no doubt began by seeing her beloved Ed for the first time in over 48 years, as well as giant hugs and kisses from her dear sisters Peg and Jan. Oh what joy to picture that reunion! A memorial service is planned for May 15, 2 pm at Grace Community Church in Auburn.
