Marilyn Elliott Daniel, 90, of Pineville, Louisiana, went to heaven Wednesday.

She was born to the late John Qugh Elliott and Ruth DeHaven, January 12, 1923, in Rochelle, Louisiana. She was married to the love of her life, Oran Laverne Daniel, for over 65 years.

Marilyn was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Pineville where she taught Sunday school and led by her Christian example and unwavering faith in God. She also served as a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. She will be missed every day but remembering the way she lived life will inspire us daily to be better people.

A true saint and the heart of the Daniel family, "Granny" was survived by her loving husband: Oran Laverne Daniel; her brother: Truett Elliott, wife Glena, and nephew Quentin Elliott, Jr., of Houston, TX; her devoted son: David Patrick Daniel, Sr. and his caregiving wife Jeanne, of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren: David Patrick Daniel, Jr., wife Jennifer and great-granddaughter Avery Grace, of Houston, TX, granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Daniel, of New York City, NY, and grandson Michael Mazzella of Los Angeles, CA; and her endearing nieces Sheryl Ann Strong and Bonnie Sue Odgen.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the United Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, LA.

Both Visitations with a Memorial Services will be held at Griffin Funeral Home, 3994 Monroe Highway, Ball, LA, 71405, on Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Visitation: 1:00 - 2:30 pm
