Marilyn Egan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 15 to Apr. 20, 2023.
Marilyn Elizabeth Egan was born in San Francisco and was a longtime resident of Sunnyvale. She graduated from St. Paul's Catholic High School in San Francisco. She also met Gordon, her dearly loved husband of almost 64 years, in San Francisco at a Marine Corps dance. She loved baseball since childhood; her favorite teams of course were first the San Francisco Seals, then the San Francisco Giants. She and Gordon spent many happy years very involved with their parish, St. Martins of Sunnyvale, where their children also attended elementary school. That's also where they met all their closest, life-long friends. After her family was grown, Marilyn went to work at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church as an administrative assistant for over 25 years before she retired. Cherished mother to Karen (Scott) Barton, Dan (Anne), Tom (Tina), Annette Gaskill, Johanna, Jeanne (Jeff) Martin, Amy (Mike) Matteis, Brian (Veronica), Bridget (Sean) Tomasello and Jeff (Michelle). Loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gordon, parents John and Helen McHugh and sisters Maureen Haas and Nancy Lewis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21 2023 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church located at 2800 Mission College Blvd., Santa Clara, CA.
