Marilyn Harrison Detwiler "Anita" Mundt

HARRISON DETWILER MUNDT, MARILYN ANITA ("ANITA) Marilyn "Anita" Harrison Detwiler Mundt, 77, of Wheatland, passed away, July 10, 2011 while surrounded by her loving children after losing her battle with cancer. She was born as the 7th of 9 children at the home of her parents, the late John and Ethel Harrison, in Wheatland, September 30, 1933 and attended Wheatland High School. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Carol, her loving son Vernon, and the love of her life and husband of 23 years, Milo Mundt. She is survived by six children: David Detwiler, of Helendale, Ca. Diana Franck-Bowyer, of Lincoln: Marilyn Huckenpoehler, of Georgetown: Gary Detwiler of Magalia, Mike Mundt, of Paradise and Kassandra Kapel, of Chico, their spouses Carrie, Bill, Mike, Kelly and Margaret, twenty-three Grandchildren, and eighteen Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Bill Harrison of Wheatland; her sister Amy Marquardt of Eureka; her best friend of over 50 years, June Swift and of course her much loved dog, Gi-Gi. Just a few of her many diverse additions to this world were: She ran the family business, baked & decorated wedding cakes, drove school bus, bartended & waitressed locally before re-marrying & moving to Magalia where she did photo finishing at Lifetouch Studios in Chico. She returned to Wheatland after the passing of her beloved husband Milo to be closer to family. She attended Grace Episcopal Church and was a member of the Pioneer Hall Mission Committee. A celebration of her life will be held 1 pm, September 17, 2011 at Pioneer Hall, corner of 4th and B streets, Wheatland.
