Marilyn Neff Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2020.
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Marilyn Jean Neff, loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched. She passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, April 17, 2020, surrounded by her family and under the thoughtful care of Suncoast Hospice. Born in Ashland, Ohio on March 15, 1941, to Beatrice Yohn Sperk and George Sperk, Marilyn met her loving husband, Bradley Neff at a Church Youth Group in Clearwater Florida when she was 15 years old and he was 17. They fell in love, married, and went on to have five children. The couple moved back and forth between Florida and New York several times and over the years they enjoyed traveling to places like Brazil, Hawaii, Bahamas, Mexico, St Thomas, and the Virgin Islands. One of their favorite family vacations was to a Dude Ranch in Tucson, Arizona. Despite all of their travels, her favorite place was in her own state of Florida, and many family vacations were enjoyed in Siesta Key. In July of 2019, Marilyn and Brad celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary. Marilyn loved to play Bingo and often played twice a week with her many Bingo Buddies in the community. Marilyn was the beloved mother of Craig Neff (Peggy), Lisa Neff, Kristi Irwin- Newberry (Mitch), Annemarie Mackin, and Brett Neff (Jackie); proud Nana of Shaun Neff (Amanda), Erin Kelly (Victoria), Kendall Mackin and Logan Mackin; Great-Grandmother to Ronan, Seamus, Tyler, Gia, and Aiden; loving Sister to Cindy Montgomery (Duke) and Peter Sperk (Karen). Marilyn was predeceased by her brother Jeff (Linda) Sperk and two grandchildren, Angela Neff and Cory Claire Neff. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews and all of her friends. Marilyn lived a full life, loved her family and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the American Heart Association. A celebration of life will be arranged and announced at a later date.
