Marilyn Joyce (Talley) TateMarilyn Joyce (Talley) Tate, 78, of Joshua, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Fehraury 19, 2009 in Burleson, Texas.Marilyn was born October 25,1930 at home near Laverty, Oklahoma to B.R. and Ruth Talley. She graduated Valedictorian of her class at Pioneer High School at the age of 16 and mamed Kenneth Tate on April 9,1947. She and Kenneth made their home in the Fort Worth, Texas area for many years where she helped her husband run his plumbing business. After he retired they moved to Debeque, Colorado where they ranched for several years. After Kenneth's death in 1991, Marilyn returned to Burleson, Texas where she resided until her passing. She was an active volunteer for many years at Huguley Memorial Hospital in Burleson, Texas. Marilyn was a wonderful Christian lady who loved the Lord and helping people. She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends.Survivors include;Son, Gary Keith Tate of Joshua, TexasDaughter, Debra Kay Tate of San Antonio, TexasBrother. Kelly Talley ofChickasha, OklahomaSister, Betty Pritchett of Enid, OklahomaSeven grandchildrenThree great grandchildrenOther relatives and friendsMarilyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; daughter, Angela and two sisters:Maxine Porter and Mareelea RotlinsFuneral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 21,2009Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Anadarko, Oklahoma with the Rev. Jerry Tate officiatingBurial to follow in the Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, OklahomaVisitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.
