Marilynn Arlene Paterna

Marilynn Arlene Paterna (nee Hollestelle) passed away on December 18, 2022, at Life Care Center in Attleboro, MA, after an extremely long battle with Vascular Dementia. The last surviving child of C. H. Hollestelle and Alice Hollestelle (nee Young), she was 97 years old. She was predeceased by her husband, William James Paterna and daughter, Melody Robin Paterna. Also, she was predeceased by her brothers, Cornelius, Clifford and John Allen Hollestelle and her sisters Alice Boucher (known as Sis), Elizabeth Fry (known as Betty), and Annette Stark and their respective spouses.

She is survived by her daughters, Kit Lynn Morrison (and her husband Donald with whom Marilynn lived with for many years before she passed) and Pamela Lea Jay (and her husband Rick), and her grandchildren, Michael Jay (and his wife Heidi), Melody Morrison, Matthew Morrison (and his wife Sonja) and Meredith Morrison, and great grandchildren William, Lorene and Lucian Jay. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a brief graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Chesapeake, VA, at 1pm on 1/13/2023, which would have been her 98th birthday. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association, March of Dimes or a charity of your choice.
