Marilynn L. Sharp, age 95, a resident of Carol Stream, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022. She was born September 25, 1926 in Chicago to David & Olga Benson.
Marilynn was born with a servant’s heart and dedicated over 30 years to helping others as an RN, retiring from Elmhurst Hospital in 1988. She continued to give of her time and talents in the quilting group at church, knitting sweaters and blankets for infants in need, serving at Feed My Starving Children, or lending a listening ear to everyone whether she knew them or not. No one ever walked away a stranger after a conversation with her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest—her contagious smile and laugh, her positive attitude and unending faith in God and the world around her will be missed by all who knew her.
She was totally dedicated to and deeply loved her family and is survived by her children: Gregory Sharp of Carol Stream, Randall (Maureen) Sharp of Phoenix, AZ, Deborah Nicholson of Traverse City, MI and Cynthia (Thomas) Heath of Plano; five grandchildren: Jason Sharp, Amy (Justin) Brenneman, Cory (Leanne) Nicholson, Jeffrey (Amberle) Heath and Ashley Heath; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin and her sisters Jean (the late Ray) Lundgren & Dorothy (the late Herb) Bate.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. The Sharp's were such good neighbors. Greg, Randy, Debbie and Cindy were always up for getting together. Mel created an ice rink in the back yard making winter a wonderful adventure. As the years passed we always looked forward to the creative photo Christmas card and news of the family. We visited with Marilynn at Windsor and it felt like no time had passed at all. She was a special person and will be missed. My sympathies to all of her family and friends.
Blessings,

Marilynn Sharp was a good neighbor and the mother of my friends Greg, Randy, Debby and Cindy. She and Mel were kind and generous when it came to letting us crash at there house to hang out. She had a great smile and always acted excited to see the people she knew no matter how much time had passed. I will remember her as having a heart of gold. God Bless Marilynn!

Marilynn and I became very close-‘sisters’ actually, when we became roommates
at Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago. We shared many happy memories!, we became Maids of Honor in each others weddings and visited many times through the
years..
