Mario's sense of humor is really missed!

So sad to hear about my Uncle Mario. Last time I saw him was when he and my Aunt Eva would come to Ontario, OR to visit my grandma.
I Adored him. I always would tell friends that my uncle Mario reminded me of Sean Connery. Not only good looking, but had a presence about him, that just made you want to be around him more.
Miss you much Aunt Eva...SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

To the Ghilotti Family,

We are so very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man who was an unforgettable father, friend, and husband. Mario was my dad's (Moose's) best friend from school. When people are friends that long, that speaks for itself. We will all miss Mario. No one, absolutely no one, can fill his shoes.

I believe our loved-ones who have passed away do live on in a way we cannot imagine. Perhaps they sometimes communicate with us through dreams. Here is an example of this very thing:

My friend Lynne who was visiting me from New Mexico spent the night at my house in Penngrove on December first. She did not know Mario other than meeting him at my father's funeral in 2008. However, she had a dream in which my dad and Mario were both now in the spirit world and they were dancing very happily, teasing one another. Mario was wearing a black and white shirt. Dad told him he looked like a “God damned Holstein with that shirt on! As they kidded around, dad said to Lynne, “Forget Flowers, they die anyway and Mario said, “Yea, and then they start stinking! Dad continued, “Just give a hundred bucks to Dino the Dinosaur's Fund.

Lynne told me her dream the next morning and asked me to help her make sense of it. (Keep in mind that she didn't know anything about Mario, Dino, a fund or a foundation.) I said I thought there had been a Dino Ghilotti, and I did not know of a fund. We looked it up on line and sure enough there was a fund and there was a Dino! (Knowing Mario, he probably did call his brother “Dino the Dinosaur.) Later that day Lynne bought a newspaper. Mario's obituary said, “In lieu of flowers (remember dad said “forget flowers) the family request donations to one of Mario's favorite charities: The William & Dino Ghilotti Memorial Foundation.

How about that! How could something so precise be a coincidence? So, here we are . . . The Muzinich's are donating a hundred bucks to the foundation just like dad said to in Lynne's dream!

Inside the feeling of loss, there is a small shining light because of this dream . . . and it comforts me. We share this story in hopes that it touches you too. We love you all and send blessings while holding you in our thoughts and prayers.

Respectfully,

Gina, Eleanor, and Melanie Muzinich

Mario has given so very much to the construction industry, the local community, and his family. It seems trite to say he will be missed-that is not enough. We must keep his simple, but generous and hard working ethic alive in this country. Our greatest legacy to Mario and his family is to try to emulate his work ethic, his compassion for the less fortunate, his dedication to family, and his spirit of helping and supporting his community.

November 29, 2010

Our condolences go out to the Ghilotti family as they grieve. You have blessed many in Marin County and beyond. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
