Mario Smiraldo, artist, father and spiritual adventurer passed away peacefully on February 21, 2014 to be with what he called the "Sweet Spirit of Life" where he will most certainly continue his investigation.
Born on December 5, 1928 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Mario was a painter, woodworker, and playwright, who challenged convention and pushed his audiences to look deeper into the spiritual dimensions of reality.
The love of his life was Millie O'Dwyer, his partner, until her passing several years ago. He counted among his greatest friends Margaret Begg of Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Company and Buzz Shannon, of Partners in Hope. He is survived by his son, poet, playwright and spoken word artist, Lucas Smiraldo.
A brief remembrance service will be held at Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Company, 317 Public Square SW, Troy, Ohio 45373, on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 5:30 PM and will continue with the spreading of his ashes shortly after nearby.

We all will miss our friend Mario, who was one of a kind. He was a very spiritual man that had a lot of talent.
Lucas you seem to be following in his foot steps. I'm proud to call both of you my friend.
