Mario will alway remain in my memory for his quiet, selfless generosity, impeccable human values, the realness of his social grace and his genuine, heartfelt love for, and vast knowledge of, music. One of the finest individuals I've met in an online setting to date, ********Val

A good man, who shared much of what made him happy with others... be it music, or literature, or movies... and so much besides. In the process he himself became even happier. He died much, much too young, but let his family find consolation in his having been taken away after he gave so much already. May he rest in peace.

We had very nice conversations on UseNet group called r.m.c. during mid '90s. He was witty, knowledeable, and fun. His humour on Horowitz and Jazz was never forgotten.
I was longing to speak with him once over a glass of beer. Good people are passing too young. R.I.P.

A few weeks ago I did send Mario an email asking if everything was all
right. I missed his posts on pianists and piano music. They always made
interesting reading. I also missed the commentaries he added to the
countless downloads he so kindly offered us.
I understand now why I never received an answer. This is very sad news. I
offer my sincere condolences to his family.

While I never met Mario personally, I am on a listserv on hardboiled and noir mysteries. In my opinion, he was the key contributor to that listserv. I will miss his correspondence greatly. My condolences to his family.

Terribly sorry to learn of this, and so belatedly. On behalf of the discussion list Rara-Avis, of which Mario was the co-moderator at the time of his death, condolences to his family and other friends, and thanks for the suggestion of where memorial contributions might be sent. No se olvida, indeed.

My heartfelt condolences to his family; he was a very nice guy: smart, easy to get along with, and kind.

It's still hard to believe. Mario approached every subjet, every issue, with so intensity that he made himself a reference for the rest of us. We will miss him.
