Dear Ursula and family,
It has been such a joy to know you and your family. Marion was so good to my dad in the last of his life. Dad always looked forward to the visits with Marion and all the time spent working together at Dan's. Thank you so much for your love and service and hope and pray that the Holy Spirit will be with you in your time of need.

Dear Ursula:
What a wonderful life Marion lived, tears streamed down my face at the funeral today as I thought about how my life had been blessed in so many ways through Marion. Marion was always a warm handshake and a happy smile which was so appreciated and needed by me when it was tough to find a smiling face. I can't think of a better person I have ever met in this life. As kids we would often say is it getting Marion? Which meant was it getting dark since Marion's last name was Black. Marion understood the humor and Marion got a better chuckle out of that joke than most of us as he had such a wonderful disposition that really is unparallelled. I am sure all of our lives are more empty now without Marion but if there was every a man of celestial material it had to be Marion. It was such a wonderful experience for me to fellowship with the Black Family.

Dear Ursula,
Years ago when we first moved into the Ward, Marion was the first to come speak to Roger and I. He was so friendly and helpful. That continued to be true the whole time we have known him and it was true of you and your whole family.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how hard it will be for you. You were both so close to each other.
Your family will be a great comfort and strength to you. I am sure many people will be praying for you. I know I will be.
Love,
Rosemary J. Ellison

Dear Ursula, both you and Marion have been so close to our family, especially Mom with all the fantastic time you were able to spend out with her enjoying all the good things in life. It was so wonderful to be with Marion so recently, and in his usual strong and caring way receive support and strength from him. He will always be so dear in our hearts, a man that you could trust, without hesitation, knowing that he would do all in his power to serve, love and uplift. We love you, and your great family. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Aunt Ursula: As soon as the news of Uncle Marion's passing reached us, we have been praying for you and your family. We know the Lord is blessing and giving comfort to you and them as you mourn Uncle Marion's sudden and unexpected passing. You and Uncle Marion have always been so kind to us, whenever we had the privilege of visiting - from the weekend preceding my mission to our gathering in October 2007. We love you and will continue to petition the Lord in behalf of your family.

Ursula, My love and thoughts are with you and your family. What a shock as I read the obituaries in the Deseret News. When I think about you and Marion I think about two people who were totally committed to one another. The love in your marriage was a great example to me of what a marriage should be. I so enjoyed all our times together. You are in my prayers. I'll be in touch. Love, Julie Ann Larson, Livermore, Ca.

Dear Ursula: We will miss Marion. It was always our pleasure to see both of you together and have occasion to visit together. Marion was interested in our lives and we always felt his love and concern for us. It is our hope that your pain felt at this time will be tempered by the sweet memories of days gone by, by his service to others, and by Marion's loving and caring nature shown through every word and deed. Know we love and care for you and your family.
