Marion Mason Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 27, 2025.
Marion Agnes Mason (nee Boettle), 89, died Jan. 21, 2025, in Pontiac, IL after a long and happy life. Marion was the kindest person anyone would ever meet. She was truly an angel amongst us and loved by many.

Marion was born Dec. 7, 1935, and grew up in Waukegan, IL, graduating from Waukegan High School in the class of 1953. The following year she married her high school sweetheart, Charles "Charlie" F. Mason. After being stationed in Alaska during the Korean Conflict, Marion and Charlie returned to live in Waukegan for 26 more years before a move to Wadsworth/Gurnee in 1980. Marion lovingly raised a family, doted on Charlie, and worked as a lunch lady in the Waukegan School District, eventually retiring to be a full-time grandma.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on May 31, 2005.

She is survived by her 3 children, Brett Mason (Ginny), Frank Mason (Trudy), and Ann Paschal (Dirk), 5 grandchildren, Peggy Stefano (Casey), Suzie Mason, Brandon Salinas (Kasie), Emmet Paschal, and Amity Paschal, and 4 great-grandchildren Charley, Claire, and Casey Stefano, and Julian Salinas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Evenglow Inn for the wonderful care she received the past few years. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7th at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL. This date would have marked Charles and Marion's 71st wedding anniversary.
