She was born in Charlotte on Oct. 20, 1925, the middle daughter of Henry and Marjorie Williams. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and of the Mary Fletcher School of Nursing. She was employed as an RN at Mary Fletcher for several years. Marion then devoted her time and love to raising her seven children. In 1969, she went to work for the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years. Marion will be remembered for her love of family and her wonderful Blackberry Patch, which has been in the family for over 100 years at the family homestead on Greenbush Road. Marion grew up in the same home she later raised her own family in. Her happiest times were spent sitting on her front porch with her children and her grandchildren. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Raymond B. Roberts, in 1989. She is survived by her seven children, son, Ray Roberts and wife, Dee, and their three daughters, Chris and husband, John, and their three children, Olivia, Greta, and Ray, Becky and husband, Chad, and their three children, Taylor, Kayla, and Luke, and Jessica and husband, Tim, and twins, Logan and Bramen; son, Bill Roberts and special friend, Katherine, and daughter, Amanda and husband Tim; son, Greg Roberts and his son, Ben and special friend, Hillary, and son, Eric; daughter, Pam and husband, George Darling, and their sons, Kyle and wife, Steph, and Sam; daughter, Deb and husband, Bill Driscoll, and their children, Meghan and Johnny; son, Ted Roberts and wife, Beth Sytsma; and son, Jay Roberts and wife, Lisa, and their son, Cody. Marion is also survived by her two sisters, with whom she shared many happy and humorous visits in the past years, younger sister, Jane and husband, Howard Miller, and their family, and older sister, Marietta Teehan. She also would like to remember special friends who brought her lots of happiness and love, Alexandra Lehman and Bonnie Schumacher. The family would like to express their gratitude to the devoted Pillsbury Manor staff for all their gracious care and love of Marion. A celebration of Marion's life will be held at the Shelburne Funeral Chapel of Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 209 Falls Road, Shelburne, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013. A private family celebration will be held at a later date in the spring at her graveside. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marion's name to the Charlotte Food Shelf. They will be greatly appreciated.
