Marion Simpson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 2, 2018.
Marion Douglas "Doug" Simpson was born on September 26, 1935 in Dallas, Texas. He went home to his Lord on September 1, 2018. Doug was in the Army Reserves from 1956 to 1962. On March 9, 1956, he married his soulmate, Maudie DeBord.

He was a Master Plumber since 1962. Due to his trade, he traveled all over the State of Texas and New Jersey. He had the pleasure to work with his son, Marty, and teach him his trade. He continued with the tradition and taught his grandson, Jeramie. Both men became Master Plumbers. Doug loved to hunt and fish. The only thing he loved more was his family. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also had a sense of humor. He had the ability to turn a life lesson into humor. Doug was easy going, very giving and never met a stranger.

Doug was preceded in death by his son, Martin "Marty" Douglas Simpson; his parents, Launa Ragan and Frances Marion "FM" Simpson; his brother, Gary Simpson; and his sister, Maxine Byrd.
He is survived by his wife, Maudie Simpson; his daughter, Tanja Anderson and husband Bill Anderson; his grandchildren, Brandy Moon, Mandy Moon and husband Kazeem Shamshiri, Jeramie Kee and wife LaDonna Kee, Shonda Duffey and husband Grady Duffey, Austin Anderson; his great-grandchildren, Taylor Moon, Dezman Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Adrian Pedraza, Neema Shamshiri, Layla Shamshiri, Alexis Kee, Michael Kee, Maverick Kee, Christian Lindsey, Connor Duffey; Sisters Peggy Bannister and Josephine Simpson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers are Dezman Anderson, Colten Barrow, Ronald Barrow, Danny DeBord, Adrian Pedraza, Terry Green and Christian Lindsey.

Memorial service is given by Daniel DeBord.

No gravesite service will be following the memorial service. The family would like to thank everyone for coming and showing your respect.
