GIBBON, Marion Ella (Kurz) Stroup, 79, of Gibbon died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Gibbon Good Samaritan Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelton. Burial will be in the Gibbon Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon/Shelton is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stroup was born March 19, 1929, at Crowell to Harold and Ella (Brandt) Kurz.

She was preceded in death by a son, David, in 1985.

Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Wayne of Gibbon; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Bob and Norma of Grand Island, Terry of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Dick of Kearney; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Craig Bombeck of Kenesaw; and a sister and brother-in-law, Gretchen and Donald Trampe of Amherst.

Additional survivors include sisters-in-law, Georgia Kurz of Portland, Ore., and Connie Mays of Kearney; brothers-in-law, Larry Mays of Kearney, Jerry Mays and wife, Connie of Harpersferry, Iowa, Rodney Mays and wife, Cathy of Reno, Nev.; nine grandchildren, Michelle Schuster, Shannon Bartels, Adam Stroup, Jason Stroup, Jaime Stroup, Lisa Stewart, Aaron Bombeck, Amy Bombeck and Stacy Stroup; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Marion married Wayne Stroup on Dec. 20, 1946. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelton.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Donovon Kurz and Leland Kurz.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Asera Care Hospice, or the Gibbon Good Samaritan Center.
