Dear Tessa and Schiffers Family,
I am so sorry that I missed the service for Maritza, or Mitzi, as I remember her in art classes at Emerson. I found the drawing she made in 7th grade, it was Spirit Circles. I made a photo of each student's profile and printed it, so it could be cut it out and used it in their drawings to depict elements of nature that reflected their spirit or personality. This was her drawing, I hope you will enjoy seeing it. I will miss seeing you out in the community and getting a hug, Maritza! God bless you. Mrs. Dziedzic

Sending you my deepest sympathies. When Maritza was younger, I often saw her on Saturday mornings at the Centennial Fitness Center Lap pool. She would come into my lane in the lap pool and ask me to pull her around the lane. We would chat during our time in the pool. She always had a smile on her sweet face, I enjoyed spending time with her. You and your family are in my prayers.

Maritza was in my sons class year and Tessa was in my daughters class. We are also members of St Lukes where we would run into you from time to time. You all always had kind words and smiles to share. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The Powells, Brian, Sony, Sarah (Zuhlke), and Danny

Ever so sorry for your loss. She was much too young to leave this life, I was an aide for her in high school. She had an indomitable spirit.

Sending all my love to the Schiffer family during this difficult time. It was truly a blessing to work with Maritza at MTTP. She always went out of her way to say hello to everyone she saw and had a kind comment for all she encountered.

I was always amazed how Maritza remembered the little things we sometimes all forget. She asked me my birthday over ten years ago when the girls were in middle school. From that day on, every year I got a call or a text wishing me a happy birthday....a small thing that always made me smile!! We are so sorry for your loss but please know that she touched many lives.

I had the pleasure of working with Maritza during her middle school years at Emerson.
She was so kind and always wanted to make sure everyone was doing ok. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. I will always cherish our Friday dance club time. I would say rest in peace but really hope you are “dancing with the stars”.

I have known Maritza for almost 7 years and will forever cherish the time we got to spend together doing M-NASR programs and our weekly check-ins. My favorite memories of Maritza was taking her to Lake Geneva last summer where we got to go on a boat tour and enjoy lunch together. She loved going to the theatre to see shows, one of which we got to see together was called "Rock of Ages" and I can still hear her singing the Journey song! Maritza loved everyone and would always go out of her way to do something nice for someone new she would meet. She was an artist and I'm thankful our paths have crossed. I'm so very sorry for your loss, Joan, Ron and Tess. She will definitely be missed!

I've know Maritza for well over a decade since we went to middle school together. I was fortunate enough to get to work with her 1:1 while we were in orchestra at Maine South, seeing her at worship and other events at St. Luke's, and more recently working with her as a program leader and assisting staff at M-NASR programs. Last summer she came to an organ recital I played at St. Luke's and I found out about a week later, that she called the M-NASR office the day after the recital to tell them about the wonderful recital she had heard me play and how lucky they were to have me on staff. I will miss her greatly, especially her smile and enthusiasm. "Oh, blest communion, fellowship divine, we feebly struggle, they in glory shine; yet all are one in thee, for all are thine, Alleluia! Alleluia!" (verse 3 of the hymn, For All the Saints).
