Marjorie Call Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 3, 2014.
Marjorie Sinclair Call, 93, of Beulah, died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at home with her family by her side. She was born November 3, 1920, in Lake Ann, the daughter of William and Edvena (Olsen) Sinclair.

Marjorie loved to serve her Lord. She was one of the oldest living members of First Congregational U.C.C. of Benzonia.

Marjorie was a woman ahead of her time. She attended Western Michigan University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education with a minor in English.

Marjorie was a gifted artist. She was famous for handcrafting her own Christmas cards featuring her original drawings.

In her spare time, Marjorie loved to garden, sew, and bake. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't take time to read the newspaper. Most of all, Marjorie loved to spend time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Marsha (Scott) McDonald of Midland, Michael (Nancy) Call of Beulah, Steven Call of Beulah, Susan (Leo) Hughes of Livonia, Jeanne (Tom) Hafer of Medina, Ohio, and David Call of Clarkston; her grandchildren, Jessica (Mark) Reed, Alison McDonald, Warren (Marina) Call, Andrew (Julie) Call, Mariah Call, Adrienne Call, Caitlin Hughes, Rebecca (Kris) Smith, Morgan Cole, Tyler (Katie) Cole, and Brady Cole; her great-grandchildren, Sofia Call, Winston Call, Ella Reed, Lydia Reed, Grace Reed, Colton Cole, and Owen Cole; her sister, Mary Hopkins of Frankfort; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In July of 1944, Marjorie married Royal James Call who preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter, and her sisters, Jean Hanson and Wilma Hanson.

The Call family would like to extend a special thank you to Marjorie's loving caregivers, Mary Rineer, Paula Smeltzer, Paula Carrier, and Maggie Lentz.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 6, 2014, at the First Congregational U.C.C., in Benzonia, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Guerreno and the Rev. Dr. G. Forrest Hoppe officiating. Interment will follow in the Benzonia Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM, Sunday, October 5, 2014, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational U.C.C. of Benzonia or to the Mills Community House.

The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements.

Dear Marsha, no preparation is ever enough for the death of our mothers. Our worldview has to change-a difficult passage to go through. In the wee hours when the loss seems greater, remember the mystery that surrounds death and loss. Who knows what is beyond that veil. This may not be the
end, after all. Love you.
