LAGRANGE — Margie L. Frost, age 72, of LaGrange, Indiana, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
She was born on May 30, 1942, to Silas M. and Florence (Hendricks) Goodrich in Bronson, Michigan. She graduated from Burr Oak High School in 1960 and then attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she received her LPN degree.
She formerly worked as an operating room nurse at the LaGrange Hospital and at the LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce where she served as the executive director. Most recently, Margie had worked along side her husband, Gordon, in assisting with daily operations of Carney-Frost Funeral Home until their recent retirement.
Margie was a current member of Cross Pointe Family Church of the Nazarene in Kendallville, Indiana, and was a former member of Howe Lion's Club in Howe, Indiana, where she was the first female member and served as its secretary for many years.
Margie had a passion for dogs and was a founding member of the AWA (Animal Welfare Association) of LaGrange and was very active in the program. She also had a therapy dog "Amos" that she frequented local nursing homes with to visit patients and also helped train other dog owners to have therapy dogs. A former member of BPW and P.S.I., she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her backyard, doing genealogy, and crafts including knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon J. Frost, whom she married on January 6, 1990, in LaGrange, Indiana. Also surviving are a daughter, Erin and Jeremy McDonald of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and six sons, John and Hope Sheehan of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Gordon J. (G.J.) and Wendy Frost of Elkhart, Indiana, David J. Frost, Robert J. and Noel Frost and Michael J. and Melissa Frost, all of LaGrange, Indiana, and Matthew J. and Heather Frost of Howe, Indiana; as well as 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Cora Mae Goodrich, and a great-granddaughter, Brianna.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2015, from 2–4 and 6-8 p.m. at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange, Indiana. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Secor of Cross Pointe Family Church of the Nazarene in Kendallville, Indiana, officiating.

A beautiful person inwardly expressed outwardly; this made Margie special because she loved people for who they could be and accepted them for who they were. She brought the best out in those that were blessed to have known her. I am one of the blessed!
