Dr. Cernosek- While I did not have the pleasure of knowing you, I did have the great joy of working with Milan and sharing some of our life stories. In the last few years, he spent time teaching a beginning gardener the basics of growing vegetables and herbs. He also spent some time sharing his life in the former Czech Republic and his departure to the U.S. The work he was doing was very important to the citizens of California and he did it well--it was a great joy to work with him.

To the Cernosek family,
Although I did not work directly with Milan, we worked in the same building. For the past six years we seemed to sit next to each other in the lunch room during the noon hour. Our ritual was to watch the local news station during lunch but we talked on occassion. Milan like to laugh and would often bring in and share food he had grown in your garden. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Milan's passing. Please know I have entered Milan's name on my families church prayer list and he will not be forgotten by this DWR employee. My deepest sympathy,

Dear Cernosek family,
It was a pleasure knowing Milan. I will always remember how kind he was to help me with my truck tire before I left home from the DWR garage. He had shared stories of his mountaineering days and gardening with me and my co-worker before starting the work day. My husband and I still have the rosemary plant cutting he gave me, he told me it was "taking over his yard". The plant is growing beautifully and it will always remind me of his generosity. I am wishing you all the fond memories of him will help you heal over time.

Dear Family, What a tremendous loss, I am so sorry, Before he was my Supervisor he was my work partner, we shared many moments together, those moments will forever live in my heart.
