Marjorie Lyon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 3 to May 4, 2023.
Marjorie "Marge" Mae Lyon, 88, of Emporium, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 10, 2023.
Marge was born to the late Walter Main and Alice (Cowan) Main on April 27, 1934 in Port Alleghany, PA. She attended Port Alleghany High School graduating in 1952. She married the late Glenn Lyon of Emporium where they lived together raising a family for the remainder of their living years.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Main of St Marys; a son, David Lyon of Emporium; one sister, Helen Tronetti of Sweden Valley; eight grandchildren, Susan Lucas of Chatsworth, GA, Robert and Gary Long of Emporium, Robyn Dynda of St Mary's, John Clarke of Bradford, Brittany Lyon of St Mary's, Darren Lyon of Emporium and David Lyon Jr. of Fayetteville, PA; along with 13 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Edward, Dean and Leo Main, two sisters; Betty McFall and Bessie Main, and in 2001 a loving son, Donald Lyon who lost his battle to Leukemia.
Marge was always a hard working woman. She spent many years employed by the Grove house in Emporium where she cared for those who needed medical as well as personal assistance. As well as a period of time with Community Nurses caring for Gertrude Allen of Emporium whom she became very close, enjoying what she did each day even more. She liked to crochet, care for her plants or piece together a puzzle and of course loved her dogs. She also enjoyed time in the kitchen cooking and of course making the best pumpkin rolls around! Most of all she was the happiest spending time with all her many grandchildren.
Marge will be deeply missed by so many. There will be no services per Marges wishes. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
The family requests any memorials or donations be sent to the Cameron Co. Ambulance services at 299 E. 2nd street Emporium, PA 15834. Please include name and address.
