Marjorie Scheffler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 31, 2025.
Marjorie Ann Scheffler, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, in Fenton, Michigan. She was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Born on May 12, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Marjorie was the eldest of four siblings and a loving sister to Karen, Jim (Kim), and Joyce (Ed). She grew up with a strong spirit and a gentle heart, dedicating her life to family and community, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

A graduate of Henry Ford High School, Class of 1966, Marjorie embarked on a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Peggy and Francis Dyar, by her beloved husband, Dennis Scheffler, and her precious grandchildren, Patrick and Ava Scheffler.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Colleen, Danny (Gwyn), Annette (Dale), and Randy (Kendra); her 14 adored grandchildren; and 3 precious great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and generosity.

Marjorie and Dennis built a beautiful life together in Howell, Michigan, working side by side and raising their children with deep faith, a strong sense of responsibility, and enduring self-worth-an accomplishment she considered her greatest.

Family time was everything to Marjorie. Summers were spent camping, tubing, and enjoying the outdoors, creating treasured memories filled with laughter, adventure, and togetherness. Around the campfire, she shared stories that brought people closer, inspiring connection, nostalgia, and joy.

Marge also found peace in quiet moments-reading a good book or crafting thoughtful, handmade cards. Her creativity and care shone through in every detail, especially in the cards she sent to those she loved.

She had a special way of staying connected to everyone, always knowing what was happening in the lives of those she cared about. Whether celebrating milestones, catching a Vegas show, or simply sharing a conversation, Marge brought light and encouragement to those around her. Her thoughtful presence, compassionate listening, and sincere support were gifts to all who knew her.

Proud to serve her community, Marge was an active board member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her work supporting veterans, military families, and local causes reflected her deep compassion and unwavering sense of service.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 26, 2025, in Fenton, Michigan, where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor the beautiful life she lived.

Marjorie's kindness, the unforgettable way she pronounced words, and the love she so freely gave will be deeply missed-and forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Legion Devereaux Post 141 in Howell-an organization close to Marge's heart. Contributions can be made online at www.americanlegionpost141.org or mailed to:
