WADDINGTON _ Marjorie Waddington. We wish to announce the very sudden passing of our mother, Mrs. Waddington on September 18th , 2003. Mother was born on March 26th, 1927 in Toronto, where she lived her early years until the passing of her parents. Her Aunt and Uncle adopted her and as her Uncle was a Baptist minister in the Army this meant many moves which meant moving to the Maritimes. Mum joined the Army in 1943 and was based in St. John, New Brunswick where she met and married our father the navy Man. Mother's moving did not stop there as they lived in Montreal, Vancouver, Hamilton, London, Radisson, Saskatoon, Yorkton and finally Prince Albert. When dad became an Anglican Priest mum became very involved in the church with the Alter Guild and the A.C.W. Mum made all of dad's vestments and the linens for all the churches they ministered to over the years. Her sewing involved making clothes for her family; matching dresses for her daughters and shirts for her boys. She had a knack for danties and remembered all her kids favourites which was evident on their 40th Wedding Anniversary when they made supper for all us and all the danties were there. When mum's youngest, Stephen, was in grade 5 she decided to work outside the home. Mum was hired as the Office Secretary at what was, at that time, Riverside Junior High in 1976 and worked there until her 65th Birthday in March of 1992. Over the years mum got to know many teachers and students, many who have fond memories of mum to this day. Mum was a very strong independent lady which was proven many times over the years but no more so than in the past four years since our father's passing. She didn't like to travel and her bed was the best. We know that she was very proud of all her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of their endeavours. Mumsy was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Francis (White) Sanders; adoptive parents, Reverend W.A. and Sarah White; her husband, Stanley; son-in-law, Ike Derksen; and grandson, Dwayne. She is survived by her children, Danella Waddington (Dennis Woznik), James (Audrey) Waddington, Michelle (Ken) Cole, Judith Waddington (Marvin Falconer), Denise (Emile) Gareau, and Stephen (Julie) Waddington; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. At mum's request her children will be her Pall Bearers because as she said, She carried us for 9 months or more and the least her children could do is carry her for her last 100 yards! The service of Holy Requiem for mum will be held on Friday, September 26th., 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Alban's Cathedral with Ordained Clergy of the Anglican Church of Canada officiating. Veteran's Honours will be conferred. Interment in the Veteran's Field of Honour, South Hill cemetery. In lieu of floral tributes donations may be made to Children's Haven in Prince Albert and would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Funeral Home 130 9th St. East Prince Albert, SK.
