Marjorie West Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2024.
Marjorie Patricia West, known affectionately as Midge, passed away on August 17, 2024, in Huntington Beach, California, at the age of 78. Born on July 15, 1946, in Illinois and in her maiden name Conrady, Midge lived a life marked by kindness and a sharp sense of humor. She cherished her roles as a mother and grandmother, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

Midge was an avid tennis and bridge player. Her home always felt welcomed and warm. She treasured decorating and celebrating the holidays with her family. She was an enthusiastic collector of crystal decorative figurines and took enjoyment in giving them to her grandchildren. She loved watching sports, such as her alma matter, USC, during their football season, plus every televised tennis tournament and of course, her favorite pastime TV show, Mash. She enjoyed baking cookies for family and guests, as well as gathering for dinner at Baci restaurant. She loved her family dearly, which was evident by the incredible amount of photos featured throughout her home.

Midge was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce West, whose companionship and love she cherished throughout their 40+ year marriage. She is survived by her loving sons, Don Rufus Hankey and Bret Conrad Hankey, along with her six adored grandchildren, and two sisters, who will miss her deeply.

Midge's warmth, laughter, and loving presence will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A service to honor Midge's life will be held in Malibu, California.

I have many fond memories of Midge from our high school days in Stockton Ca. She had such an attractive, warm and uplifting presence. We shared many memorable experiences together and I'm grateful for the part she played in our younger years. My deepest condolences to family- from her obituary I can tell she led a fulfilling and loving life and will be cherished by her family forever. Farewell Midge! May your spirit soar forever!
